In all seriousness, I have an S3 and greatly enjoy it over my wife's iPhone 4, with one exception - her phone takes better photos.

It really depends on what you want to do with the phone. For me, the Android system is able to do more at the risk of issues due to the nature of open-source. The iOS system is very fluid and seems less prone to crashing, somewhat due to the vetting of apps that go through the App store.

The benchmarking on the most recent iPhone is excellent and I believe the HTC One is it's closest competition.

I have had the S4 about 6 months now and really like it. Never owned an iPhone. Always have used Android for smartphones. I'll probably catch hell but the S4 blows the doors off almost every comparison between the two phones.

Also recommend an Otterbox Defender for any phone you end up purchasing. Found mine on ebay for $25 shipped. I accidentally ran it over with my truck and the case took a beating but my phone was good as new. Had to buy a new case since it was cracked and chipped but no complaints here.

One piece of advice if considering an upgrade with Sprint is look into purchasing the phone upgrade/contract extension at Best Buy instead of the Sprint website. The price savings looks to be VERY substantial.

I'm still debating the Note3 vs S4, so my S2 is fine for now while I make up my mind.

I have an s4, and I'm on my 4th phone in 6 months.  I like android, I switched from iPhone and I'm very happy with the overall phone, camera, operating system, etc.  Apple has much higher quality standards... sw and hw, it just works.  Samsung.. a bit less in quality dept.  It's frustrating... if the quality was there, I'd be very happy.

1st phone: About 2 months in, started making noise out the speaker all the time, then fully stopped, no speakerphone.

2nd phone: Warranty replacement of first phone, screen died within first week.

3rd phone: Warranty replacement of 2nd phone.  SW upgrade fried the camera, the firmware update failed.

4th phone: Warranty replacement of 3rd phone.  I've had it for about one month.  No issues.... yet.

Lots of co-workers have the s4, and I'm the only one with these issues. I wash it thoroughly with soap and water every day, still...issues.

SIL has an S4, he is tinkerer so always has liked the Android platform. His sister (also a programmer) has the new iPhone, she likes the seamless integration with her iPad and MacBook. She treats her devices as tools, not games.

If you want everything to play together and you have other Apple devices, I think the iPhone may be an easier fit. If you like to do your own thing, the Android platform offers quite a bit and the S4 is the best out there.

That has the benchmarking I was referring to. I was wrong about the HTC One; that was when compared to the iPhone 5 with A6, not 5s with A7. The S4 is the most comparable.

When I am due to upgrade, I will stick with the Samsung and what ever iteration is out this coming June. The only reason I'd switch to the iPhone is the camera, and I'd go with a Lumia before the iPhone. My Samsung works just fine with my wife's Macbook and my 10 year old Mac Mini. I just had to do a couple of extra steps instead of it just doing it by itself, as Apple products do with each other.

My work phone is an iPhone 5s, my personal is an S4...Both are great quick phones. ..I still prefer android over ios...but performance they are very similar...and yep...Otterbox all the way around.

Ps...my wife has the note 3...I like it for using it...but it was just a bit to big for me to comfortably carry...battery life on both the s4 and note 3 is amazing...

I have an S4 and I love it.  I cant compare it to iPhone because I've only used my wife iPad a few times.  I think the S4 is much easier to use then the Apple.

I have the S4 and it is fine.  I use the nav a lot due to my travel.  Wife and daughter have the I phone 5 and like them. I do not take advantage of most of the features as I do not have the time or patience to learn about and use all of the phone's capabilities.  I use the S4 to answer personal calls and check personal e-mails, help me to get where I am going, and take pictures of my egg cooks.

Whatever you get used to using is what you will like. I will say you need to make sure your are running antivirus on your Droid just like a Windows PC. Good luck.

Got my wife one. She had a i4 before this. I have i5 . It has problem after problem. Main things are cannot text each other. and she cannot text a lot of other people. She loves the camera. Support has been very bad, of course not the phones fault. Anyway I will stay with iphone.

I will say the note 3 has a great battery. Between this forum and surfing porn I don't have to charge it till 10 in the morning.

Have her try another texting app. I use Go SMS Pro. No issues with texting or group messaging.

I've been using the Droid Razr Maxx for a few years and it's a solid device. Battery life is amazing. I use my phone for work, email, streaming music and navigation daily. I could go a full two days between charges with heavy use. I'm a Samsung fanboy, and have considered getting the S4. I just think the drop off in battery life would kill me.

I have an S4 and an iPhone5.  S4 is my work-provided phone.  Both are great.  I'd agree the S4 probably has some technological advantages.  But the iPhone 5 just works better and I prefer it.  I'd buy the iPhone 5 over the S4 any day and it hurts me to say that as I am not a Apple guy at all.

Get the 5s. Much better battery life.

I have both the iphone 5s and the Galaxy S4, still prefer the iphone over the galaxy.  I had to de-register by phone number on my icloud account ( switched from iphone to galaxy) so text messages would go through.

HTC One here. Great device, so elegant. Love HTC phones. Mine are always rooted and I change ROMs for fun.
