Haven't played with the mini but Costco has the regular sound link and I have been eyeing it for a long time. Looks and sounds great. This is the first time I ha e seen the sound link on sale I think it was $239 today. Would probably get it if I didn't buy a concept 2 rowing machine Friday. Congrats on a great gift I'm jealous.

My wife just bought one. Very good sound. It fills a room like a system much larger. She is very happy with it.

Funny, I ordered a larger JBL unit for my wife, even though she asked for a Bose.  The JBL looked a bit bulky, so I returned it without even opening the package.  Ordered a Sound Link.  Hope she doesn't think its to small.  But she will get her Bose.

@givengold3 which JBL did you order? I have a couple of theirs and they are pretty nice. The power up model supports wireless cell phone charging so if your phone has the option you just sit it on the speaker and it charges. I also have the smaller play up and its pretty nice also.

My wife bought ours in the states. She didn't pick up the subwoofer. Last time I checked they weren't available here yet.

So is it ok to leave the speaker on the battery and plugged in or should the battery be unplugged until you need to charge the speaker?

I'm really pleased with my Altec Lansing InMotion Soundblade. Almost exclusively jam in my kitchen.

We take it out to the deck in the summer, probably five hours on a charge. We keep it in the charger. It's not like I've ever read any instructions in my lifetime my son.

I have a couple of them- sound much better than most of the others of similar size. Place it against the wall or in a corner and it helps the lower end...
