Rainy Weekend Cooks
My i picked up a 8+ pound bone in butt for my nephew, making it and giving it to him as part of his birthday present. No briskets, all they had were little flats. I grabbed a rack of ribs and a chuck roast... going to try and do some pepper stout beef in the DO
Not feeling it tonight as the rain hasn't let up enough to even attempt to prep or start the egg... I guess the cooks will have to wait till morning/afternoon.
I did get a bottle of Jameson Black along with a few bottles of Fat Bastard Cab that was on sale
Hope everyone has a great weekend, stays safe in the weather and doesn't lose power...

No egging for me tonight either, but more because of me being a pansy then precipitation. It was 65* on Tuesday and I played 9 holes in shorts and a polo. Tonight it was 9* when I would have been starting the egg and it's down to 6* now. Another couple of days and I'll be used to it and be right back on the horse, but right now it just feels to damn cold to stand out there. So what would have been pepper stout beef has become a run of the mill beef stew on the stove. Oh well.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

Going with butt (and maybe the ribs) first thing when I get back from the DMV, using Bad Byron's and some peach...
I'll probably make the beef on Sunday starting in the morning; also thinking about make a pot of German Lentil Soup (my mother's recipe) as well on the stove. Going to be perfect weather for comfort food like that

Today is partly cloudy and the rain has stopped... Heading out in a little while to get some hickory to use with the peach for the butt which I will being doing turbo / nitro style. At some point I'll put the ribs on as well...
This is what it looks like being first in line at the DMV this morning. Must have been close to 100 people behind me LOL... I was out in 15 min.

Weather is going to be awful but I've going to be out doing some steaks tomorrow night. Is there any advantage to rolling the ribs so tight? Looks like you had enough room for a wider diameter or was the top of the dome the limiting factor?Cooking on an XL and Medium in Bethesda, MD.
