Do you brine a frozen turkey that has been "enhanced with a solution?

No. It has been brined. Just season with aromatics/herbs inside plus rub/seasoning on the skin.
How have you been? -
Good, been away for a while, was working long days, long weeks, long months for the last 3 months. Finally done with that. How have you been?
-
@Eggcelsior answered the question, good to see you @fletcherfam, hope all is well.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

Work, kids, sleep. Work, kids, sleep. Work, kids, kids sick for a week and up all night, zombie.
I've egged once since the government shutdown. Oof. 4 month old + 21 month old es no bueno. Then they smile. Totally worth it or I'm totally crazy. -
I think both, I know the feeling, my little one ( 9 month old Maximus) has had 3 war infections in 6 weeks, life sucked.
-
Has he needed to see an ENT? I had chronic ear infections around that age and wound up with a myringotomy to prevent deafness. It was an issue for a year before I had surgery. I'm not trying to scare you, just reminded me of what my mom told me.
-
I had the thought if it continues, he had an ear infection at 2 months old which was really unusual.

Hey Fletch - wondered where you were, welcome back, trust the little one's ear is on the mend, makes life so much easier when they are happy and healthy. Not only turkey and chicken, but pork too is often previously treated.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
-
Welcome back Fletch

Yes you can....make sure that the solution is below 8% if it's 10% cut your salt amount in half.
-
I second mimauler. I didn't brine an enhanced one that was 8% and it came out meh. I decided to brine the next one with half the salt and it was phenomenal. Just sayin.
-
There's no stupid question... Only stupid turkeys.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

What about 18 0/0?

mimauler said: Yes you can....make sure that the solution is below 8% if it's 10% cut your salt amount in half. Oops, yes - this is true. I am used to seeing 15% enhanced turkey parts.
-
Thanks for the welcome back. So I need to cook two birds Saturday, should I brine for 24 hours in a light salt solution then leave uncovered file like 15 hours in fridge? Thoughts?
-
Leave out at least overnight. I normally do 24 hrs. The brine time is good.
