This Weekend's Cooks...

Not sure how much I'll be egging this weekend... Tonight for sure, tomorrow my wife and daughter are taking me to a local Italian place they want to try... Have to see about Sunday...

Today / tonight

Big porterhouse for me, chicken breasts for my girls, some red potatoes and salad.

Picked up some cigars, and a treat... a bottle of Macallan 12 year old :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Would like to get an Egg cook in tomorrow - we'll see.

Hopefully I will be enjoying a nice cigar and some good Scotch as well - just do not know which one to pick, Macallan Estate (20 year old), JW Blue, or Glenmorangie Scotch Single Malt Signet,

Definitely Egging tomorrow.  Not sure if I'm going to the butcher and picking up some baby back ribs or if I'm going to give the Asiago crusted chicken recipe mentioned here a try.

I picked up one of these for a chicken wing cook last weekend.  Good smoke.

    Thanks all...

Going to sip slowly with the scotch, still have a little 10yo left that I will finish first :)

The steak will likely be trexed... or just done at normal grid height to temp. It's not as thick as I would have liked.

@GATraveller I agree... My neighbor gave me one of them a week or so ago.

The ladies are taking me out for my birthday :) So anywhere they want is fine by me...

Beef ribs on the egg since this morning.
But the big stress is tomorrow. Doing "Ladies Night" for my wife and a dozen or so of her friends. The Egg features prominently in the menu.  Smoked some sweet potatoes today for sweet potato hummus, stuffed mushroom caps and pizza on the menu from the Egg too.

The rest of the menu includes:
    Roasted pepper guacamole
    Panko crusted fish fingers
SouthWestern pulled pork egg rolls (guess that came from the egg too but I did the pork last week and froze it).
    Asian chicken lettuce wraps
    Thai lemongrass mussels
    Coffee creme brulee
    Maple mousse
Enough wine and homebrew to keep everyone happy and out of my kitchen.
If time permits and I can grab picks I'll throw on a Ladies Night thread but I'm betting my stress level gets too high and I forget.  I do that a lot.

Happy Birthday.  Sounds like a great weekend.  I'd start with the 12 yo scotch.  Enjoy the better one first.
