I am approaching doing a long slow cook with $$$ meat rather gingerly. I decided baked beans would be an inexpensive item to cook long and slow. I soaked the beans last night. Got the grill started about 8. Assembled the beans, brown sugar, molasses, onions, salt pork etc.. and brought it to a simmer inside. Added some garlic, candied ginger, a dried cayenne and carrots to the traditional ingredients. Then put it in the egg about an hour ago. We shall see. Wish me luck.
