Big Green Egg - EGGhead Forum - The Ultimate Cooking Experience...
We hope everyone’s enjoying the first few days of summer. For us, the weather heating up means one thing - the EGG’s gonna be busy! Whether you’re making stuffed burgers for a backyard grill out, some brats before a baseball game or searing a steak for dinner on the patio, we hope you’re doing it with full flavor and having fun all the while!

Big Green Egg headquarters has moved - come visit our new showroom and check out the museum and culinary center too! 3786 DeKalb Technology Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30340

I'm New Here ...

But I'm loving it so far.

I want to thank everyone for all of the useful information I've read over the past two months in my BGE infancy - through the cooks of my first three Spatchcocks, my three butts, and now my four pizzas!  I'm finally getting the hang of the lingo, and really enjoying the plethora of information that can be gained here on these boards.  Y'all are an awesome "family".  I got my L-BGE for Christmas last year, and being the Type A, OCD individual that I am, I didn't want to cook until I had my table.  Mr. SS9 finished my PERFECT table last month (pics below - I'm so proud!), and I started down my path to becoming one of those "I only cook on my BGE" people!  If there are any handouts of advice being given, I'm all ears (OK, eyes ...).  Any suggestions for new kids with respect to reading material?

I'm looking forward to hanging out and sharing with y'all!  Maybe even contributing a recipe here and there!

THANKS, y'all!

One of my first briskets there and I'm still trying to repeat it. Brought it to work and made ten lifelong friends. They ask every day what's next. :) you're going to really enjoy that Egg. Have fun!

    Welcome to the herd.

Is that a deep dish hiding on the lower shelf?

    How did they turn out?

When you say thanks y'all, it makes me think we have another Texan among us.

Hi Hotch!  No ... sorry to say - I'm actually a California Girl (turned Georgia girl, turned Georgia-Alabama girl - I can't shake the GA part, and go over every time I get the chance - still good friends there and lots of yummy restaurants)!  But I DO LIKE Texas ... Austin's the only place I've really ever spent any time & I have quite a few amazing pairs of cowboy boots - Does that count?

The deep dish is used upside down - I'm not a thick crust kinda girl.  I like it crispy.  And it works well, as long as you place your pie PERFECTLY in the middle!  (They didn't have a regular flat one when I got mine!)

Oh, so it is a raised pizza stone. Got it.

Remember deep disk in not about a thick crust, but great filling wrap by a thin crust.
