You will love the Cyber Q.  I use it for all longer cooks (over 2 hours) where the temp needs to be 350 or less.  I was able to use it this past weekend to help hold low (145'F) for an extended period of time to smoke sausage.

If you have any set up issues, feel free to ask

@BigWader I already have a DigiQ that I just love I bought this because of the WiFi capability I can't wait to use it I will be able to monitor my over night cooks from my bed rather then go outside to check that all is well

I love the WIFI, one thing you can do is use port forwarding on your router and a dynamic dns server so that you can check it's status from outside your house. Also, if you have a smart phone there are a couple apps out there that will work with it that have more features/look infinitely better than the stock web server built in to the wifi

It's $279 but the blower is extra, without blower how does it control temp? Not sure how it works but everyone seems to like em

Yeah, their pricing is a little odd......as a new dealer I'm still figuring out. It comes out to about 390 with the controller, adapter, and fan on their site.

I got mine on Amazon from a company called The Electronic Specialists. $249 for the full set up.

I was so skeptical of the price I called BBQ Guru and they couldn't confirm the company, or anything but directed me to Firecraft basically indicating that they didn't think there was any money in the deal for the seller if any at that price.  Even though I had to have it shipped to a depot in Buffalo I had to take the chance for the lower price.

I checked with the seller, and they told me it was the whole thing.  Even offered to honour his lower price when it went up another $50 or so overnight before I pulled the trigger.

I'm happy to report that everything was fine - it was the full package and for a great price.  I have no idea if that means he made money or not, or if there is tons of hidden margin in these things but I was thrilled that I didn't shell out the $480 they want in Canada

I ended up purchasing my CyberQ wifi from Pittsburgh Ceramics. I'm happy to have the unit. The only minus I can find is the increased lump consumption when using a blower unit to stoke the Kamado. It beat freezing your butt off winter making a butt for the family.

@Charcoal Addict I already have a DigiQ Dx2 basically the same thing but no WiFi conection as far as increased lump consumption I haven't noticed that but I almost always have been using the DigiQ so maybe I don't know any betterI mean I have don't low and slow cooks overnight for like 16 hours and when the cook is done I still have plenty of lump in the firebox to do a 2nd or even a 3rd cook

I was thinking on getting a cyber q
My egg dealer said to install it you have to drill a hole into the egg or some where and it would void my warranty.

I need input, true or false?
    Thanks, Gary

Wow, no idea why he said that.  No drilling needed.

gktheegghead no drilling any hole in the egg it comes with a adapter plate that fits in the bottom vent that holds the fan the pit probe and meat probe wires go between the base and dome so I don't know why your dealer would tell you that

@AmericanFlannel-What apps are you reffering to? I was unable to set mine up on my Mac..just wouldn't recognize it. I gave up on the wifi feature. I'm not very computer savvy..

Drill a hole...Holly Hanna...I'm wondering if they should be working that rep's training. The new adaptors fit KJ, Grill dome and Egg with a single adaptor. I actually added a little felt gasket material to reduce some of the smoke leakage on the outside edge of the Adaptor. I actually don't use the CyberQ Wifi temps over 275F. The extra lump consumption required for 300F cooks that are only 4-5 hours isn't worth it. Usually it easy to hold 300F in really cold temps in a good Kamado. 300F is still easy to hold when your using sub-par lump. One mistake I learned to avoid from my first cook with the CyberQ Wifi is to never use any old lump even if they're big pieces. All the ash from the old lump at the top makes the fan blow harder and cause the CyberQ to chew up the newer lump faster by running the fan all the time vs. cycling a small percentage of the time to hold the temp. The more the fan has to cycle, the more lump your going to waste. Building a proper fire with only big pieces of lump is very critical to not wasting tons of lump with ATC draft systems.

@krobertsmsn- The app is only available for Android at the moment. Its called the Pit Pal. I have seen that they are working on a version for iOS but who knows when it will be out. I configured the CyberQ to connect into my router. It a little difficult because you have to get the encryption type right ( there are several) and its a pain to enter your password from the unit (using the up & down keys to search for the letters/numbers). Just make sure the password isn't too long otherwise you'll have a heck of a time entering it :)

I use the BBQ remote software for my IPhone to control the CyberQ Wifi. It works well for the most part. It has a few bugs to still work out.
