OT: which weber grill light works with the new LBGE handle?
caliking
Posts: 18,727
Clarification - not the new plastic handles which debuted this year, but the loner/wider oval shaped handles ( I bought my LBGE last December).
I bought a Weber grill light for my small egg and it works great. My small is the older handle type, so the light (made for the Weber Q) fits great. Kind of like this (pic is from an old thread):
Anyone know which light (Weber has a few handle lights available) would fit the LBGE handle I have?

This one says it works with BGE with the wide handle.

@Mross - thanks for the links. I checked it out, but will pass on it. I have lights exactly like that one(no polycarbonate lens though), bought for $3 at HF. Seems like $30+ extra for the lens and bracket, and its not weatherproof. Might revisit this option if I can't find anything else. The ones I am trying to pick between are:I don't know if the bracket is wide enough for the LBGE wide handle. I have to see if I can find a Weber Q300 in the store to measure and find out. This doesn't look it would work, but I saw this one at Lowes recently, so I should be able to get a closer look at it.The LBGE handle is probably bigger circumferentially than the flat/oval handles this light was meant for, but it seems the most promising of the lot.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

caliking - Been looking for the same thing now that it is getting darker sooner. Which one did you get for the small? Does it work well?

@RAC - this is the one I got for the small: http://www.amazon.com/Weber-6503-Q-Handle-Light/dp/B000WEPFT0/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1382986737&sr=8-9&keywords=grill+lightIt may even fit the mini too.My small has the older style handle. Had to bend the tabs on the light just a bit to make it fit, but it really lights up the grid nicely. Don't rely on the tilt switch to switch it on/off when you open/close the lid though, since it doesn't work as well once you've bent the tabs to make the fit. Use the manual switch.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Well its good that you are doing the research, I am the proud owner of the Weber light that will not fit my wide handle. I bought my LBGE Jul 2013 so I would love a light that would work on it. Love to hear if anyone has found the perfect product.cheersLBGE 2013 Located in Savannah, Georgia

@Aquacop - which light did you buy? Can you post the Weber product number? The 6503 works on the small with old handle. It may also work on the mini with the new rounded/oval handle. I just tried the 7516, and it does not fit the LBGE or mini with the rounded/oval handles. If one were so inclined, you could attach the 6503 to the LBGE wide handle by unscrewing the handle from the bracket, and drilling the the part of the handle that sits near the dome side. Place 2 small bolts through the holes, countersunk so that the heads of the bolts are flush with the wood surface that goes against the metal bracket (the "inside" of the handle). Screw the handle back on to the bracket, with the ends of the bolts facing the band or dome. Slide the light bracket holes onto the bolts and screw on some acorn nuts. That would take a little work, and if I'm bored some day, I might try it. I think I've put too much thought into this already#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.
