I'm telling ya, since I got my Large BGE July 1st, I can't stop thinking about cooking. All the great people here are simply amazing. Help from the experienced is just a click away. I want to thank everyone. I've been reading the forum for a few months and I'm so pleased with my purchase. Now, the only bad thing is I'm constantly thinking and planning my next cook. I've looked through all the great recipes and it's hard to decide. Maybe salmon will be next. We'll see, but it's so reassuring to know all you guys are here and with your guidance and help, I think anything can be cooked to perfection.[p]Thanks again everyone,
John

    JohnL,
For the first part of last year I was just plain happy with my gas grill and life in general. Things were grand. Chicken tasted good, steaks and chops were as good as I thought they could be. [p]Then last summer my brother in law came down to visit, and he would not shut up about this egg thing. Finally, just to shut him up, we went out and I bought a medium egg. 28 days later, I traded it in for a large, and added a small later. [p]I knew not what a brine was. I knew not how to make a dry rub. I had no idea that a Boston Butt was actually the upper part of a pig's shoulder, and that Country Ribs are not ribs at all. Didn't knmow that you could make a tough brisket into a tender magic wonder. I thought squid was naturally tough, until I tried it seared at 750. [p]I thought cooking was work. Now it is a love, a passion, a hobby.....[p]My name is Nature Boy, I am an eggaholic.

    Cornfed,
Thanks for sharing Cornfed. We are right with you brother.
Let us join hands. We will get you through this addiction, friend. Let us all say in unison "chunk-o-chest". And repeat. "Chunk-o-chest". Okay now on to something more difficult, but we must face it head on. "Babyback ribs". Repeat "Babyback Ribs". Yes we are with you brother. Thanks again for sharing.

JohnL,[p]I too noticed the same thing.... akin to an addiction to cooking since I got the BGE a few months back. Do you think its something in the lump that when smoked makes a person passionate..... about cookin good grub that is.[p]After all tobacco smoke is addictive... so is opium... why not smoking lump? When this addiction is discovered by the shrinks a variety of recovery programs are sure to follow... I can see it now lump recovery centers.. lump's annoymous... lump half-way houses, dotting the country side.[p]Soon the Egg craze will hit the larger population... (such good food secrets can't remain so for long. What happens when all the people become lump addicts? [p]The Clintonistas will go into action and have a field-day starting new government programs. Al Gore will be not only trying to ban the automobile but will blame the BGE craze for speeding global warming...The Greens will obviously want to ban them.... Socialists of all stripes will agitate for regulating or even banning Eggers... Scary stuff this... [p]Anthony
