Oh, sorry about the title. Sometimes I forget what language I'm talking or writing in.
Obviously from the title, I'm talking about Fried Shrimp with Hoisin Ginger sauce.
This is really good. My harshest critic (SWMBO) gave it two thumbs up. It is different than a normal stir fry in that you stir fry the shrimp, but spoon the veggies and sauce over the shrimp after it it plated.
I got the recipe from my favorite new book ... Asian Sauces and Marinades .
First, make the hoisin garlic sauce. It's made up of hoisin sauce, minced garlic, rice wine, soy sauce and pureed ginger.
Next, saute red pepper and onion in peanut oil for about 5 minutes
In the meantime, marinate the shrimp in corn starch, egg white, and salt for an hour
Combine the veggies and sauce and simmer while frying the shrimp
Fry the shrimp
Plate and enjoy.

The sauce looks really good. How would the shrimp be different if sauteed? Did it stay crispy after being sauced?#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

I didn't fry it in a batter so there wasn't a crust. It would probably done just as good sauteed. I think the sauce made the dish. It had a slight sweet taste with the boldness of the hoisin sauce. Hard to explain.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious

VI - did you buy the hoisin sauce, if so what brand or from which store? All of those flavors sound like ones we would enjoy.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

All of those flavors sound like ones we would enjoy.Hoisin sauce is the only sauce that I like the store bought sauce better than homemade. I made it once, and although good, I really like Lee Kum Kee brand better.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious

You, Sir, take Asian food to a whole 'nother level. So jealous. I need to work on that.

@Griffin Ahh, thanks buddy !@ringkingpin You could do the veggies in the wok, but I think the idea here is to meld the veggies with the hoisin ginger sauce. After caramelizing the veggies, you simmer the onion and pepper with the sauce while the shrimp is cooking. A much longer process than if you did a regular stir fry.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious
