Cast Iron Dutch Oven

My husband bought me the cast iron Dutch oven for the BGE as a birthday gift......I can't wait to,try it....what do you cook in your Dutch oven on the egg?

    Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

    I have done chili and stews.  I also like to put a ham in it with apple juice.  Have done a Mississippi Roast.  

    You can probably do about anything that you would put in a crock pot.

    Peach Cobbler! (pictured below). I did an apple crisp today that turned out great!

  • Can't wait to try these! When we opened the package last night, the pot had a HUGE crack in it! No worries, we will take it back and exchange it!
  • Tons of things! I picked up a Chuckwagon cook book printed in 1973 (sponsored by Marlboro if you can believe that) with tons of recipes to do over live fire and a DO.  Stews are still my favorite with chili a close second. Not much into sweets and baking.
