Rounding out the choices for the Soul Sauce, the Mild is stewing away for the 3 hour cook. Hot and Medium are in the jars, most of which has already been shipped out to friends.

This is a recipe I got about 30 years ago from an old man on one of the back roads in the south. I stopped along the road while this man was barbecuing and spent a couple of hours talking to him about barbecue. In addition to doing his barbecue he was also making sauce. I asked him if I could have the recipe and he was very hesitant and said he did not share this with anyone. After a couple of hours he did give me the recipe as long as I would promise not to share with it with anyone. I have kept my word

Have you considered honoring your friend by sharing the recipes?
-
Based on Google search, it appears to be a type of barbecue sauce, correct?
Good on you for honoring your friend by not sharing the recipe, as was his wish. -
It is a barbecue sauce, I named it "Soul Sauce" in honor of the old black man that I felt was cooking from his Soul
