I'm looking to get a stand alone propane burner to do Brunswick stew and Low country boils. Anybody have one that works well?
I've seen a lot of brands and most look like they would only be good for a few cooks. I want something that will be a workhorse.
Appreciate any recommendations

If you can find an old gas hot water heater (like from the 70s) get the burner from it. I have one that was modified and it has been superbIn the middle of Georgia! Geaux Tigers!!!!!

I have a Bayou Classic and it has been going strong for right at 6 years. Probably use it once to twice a month for low country boils, gumbo, fish frys, fried turkeys you name it.

The propane burner is not a big deal. I got mine at Academy, and as long as you don't keep it out in the rain, it will last forever.Your real consideration should be the pot you cook your stuff in. Lots of folks use these burners for frying crawfish and turkeys and the common pot is aluminum. My (nurse) wife has talked me out of aluminum, so you should consider getting stainless steel.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious
