By no means is my meal as good as some others i have seen on this site but, I am pretty happy with my first wok session. I had more fun than anything else. This egg has changed my whole outlook on cooking. I have never had the confidence to try a varied menu in fear of not satisfying my friends and family and most importantly my own expectations. As result of my egg purchase and the discovery of this forum, I am really leaning and appeasing my guest. Thanks for feeding my new found cooking experience....
Any how, just a simple shrimp fried rice dish cooked on the wok. I shut the lower vent with the temp at 400.
Fried the shrimp
then eggs, wiped clean,
added a lil oil and then then rice
added peas, carrots
then shrimp
eggs
I used grape seed oil to fry
low sodium soy sauce
sesame oil (this smells so good)
It was simple. I plan to try a few more dishes this week.

That's awesome. My new wok and spider should be here this week and shrimp fried rice is near the top of the list!
What kind of rice did you use? Do you fully cook it, let it cool, then fry it? -
@legomyeggo - thanks@sickeyediaz - i cooked the Jasmine rice this morning before work and put it in the frig. All the videos and recipe call for it to be cold. it was scrumpcious.XL BGEJoe JRBaltimore, MD

Looks wonderful, Gata. What's under the wok? At first I thought it was a spider, but it appears to have multiple circular rings.

@griffin- looks like a lump reducing ring setup from CGS. Probably works well to concentrate the heat on the wok.

Does grape seed oil change the flavor? I was going to use for taco shells but stuck with canola. I have a big jug i used for seasoning so looking to utilize itSeattle, WA
-
@skinnv - the rice was pretty good. The bottle says light all natural cooking oil. I have an unopened bottle of canola but i wanted to try the grapeseed.I dont think it will hurt to try it. When i seasoned the wok with the grape seed, I smelled like grease. I didnt think i would like it but all grease gives an oder when frying.XL BGEJoe JRBaltimore, MD
