  • @noLaegghead It's a Pork shoulder I tried to get a butt but they only had boneless I think that you nee the bone I belive the bone adds flavor maybe I'm crazy but thats what I think .

    cool.  I like the bone in...it helps tell when it's done.  (pops out easy).  Butt, shoulder, all the same thing.

    I don't know if it adds flavor. Like nola said, it's just a built-in doneness indicator. I'm looking forward to the highlights!

  • Im cooking it at 225 pit temp until a inturnal temp of 190 then FTC for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours havent decided if I'm going to sauce it or servr sauce on the side and let the people decide for themselfs

    Let the meat speak for itself. Sauce on the side. Why waste 12 plus hours smoking it only to smother it in sauce which will be all you taste.

  • Oh I forgot to mention I have apple juice in the drip pan andI rubbed it with butt rub I never used it I usually use swamp venom and dizzy dust .

  • Nice! How was the skin? I've found it gets very leathery, so I've been removing it before cooking.
