NEO Turbo Butt attempt

Good Morning Everyone,
Well today is going to be my first attempt at a butt. It will be my first time using a Maverick temp probe too, any probe for that matter. After watching
the temps this first hour I am going to like having it on my other cooks for sure.
So far we are at the hour mark and the cooker is settled in at 330. The temp probe and dome temps have pretty much settled in and are matching as of now. Like I had read in other posts it was off 20-30 degrees early. I was kind of surprised how soon they matched up really, don't know what I was expecting but you know.... first time and all.
Thanks to the forum it gives me a little bit of confidence to even try this. I love this cooker though, my wife gives me some funny looks at times but has enjoyed everything we have made so far.
Going with Bad Byrons and am going to spritz every couple hours with apple vinegar/oil combo. We will see what happens.
While I am at it I might as well see if I can post a photo or two along the way....

For what it's worth at 190 I quit watching the temp and go by tenderness or the bone test... Wiggle. Looks great.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

+ 1 on the wiggle and temp. I like to use a skewer to check for tenderness. If it feels like Buttah it time to pull but not until then.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

Oh ok, when I put in the instant thermometer to double check it met no resistance so decided to pull off. We will see.BruceL BGEKennesaw, GA

Well the results are in, everybody loved it! I ended up leaving it in the cooler for 3 hours pulled it out at 4:30 or so and it easily pulled apart with two forks. I cannot remember ever having such moist pulled pork. Now I have never done an all nighter.... but after this I do not think I would even try. Thanks to everyone here that has filled the archives with such helpful posts!!!BruceL BGEKennesaw, GA

I just bought a maverick thermometer too, have not used it, along with some Bad Byron's. Was planning on doing the exact same cook tomorrow. Never turbo'd before. Hope it works well for the both of us!Cleveland, Ohio
