VI gave us a bottle of his home made Bourbon Vanilla so i thought I would make myself a vanilla yogurt for dessert. Used Goats milk yogurt, slightly sweeten with dark agave syrup and a teaspoon of VI's vanilla. Boy was that good, gave the other half a taste and darn near didn't get the yogurt bowl back. Sorry no picture, this was an experiment. Thinking fresh grated coconut might be added tomorrow.

Well that's better than branch. First business trip to Texas back in '75 tried my first Bourbon and they served it with branch water - enough to turn a dog from a gut wagon. Bourbon Vanilla sounds really great and if VI made it, it must be good, I'd be suspicious, but it must be good. @Tjcoley kindly included some of his Vodka based vanilla in our rub exchange, really great flavour, i have trouble keeping the bottle topped up. Must try this vanilla bean thing. I have some Tennessee Honey Bourbon I'd like to try.You really had me at coconut, next to bacon, my other personal weakness.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

I've done some Jack Daniels vanilla, but never thought of Honey Bourbon. Great idea. That may be this years Christmas gifts.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.- Camp Hill, PA

@Tjcoley, I have a bottle of Honey that I've been using up in the whipping syphon it is way too sweet to sip. Where do you get your beans? I understand there is a huge difference in quality.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

First batch I did I bought the beans from the spice isle at the grocery store. Paid about $20 for 3 beans. Then went online, and the ones I use now are from http://www.amazon.com/Madagascar-Bourbon-Planifolia-Gourmet-Vanilla/dp/B005CJBKAI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1379907054&sr=8-4&keywords=vanilla+beans__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art.
