Just returned from Kodiak Alaska with good memories and salmon, halibut and ling cod. Twelve good friends at remote lodge. Good food, lots of laughs and good fishing. My two largest halibut were 157 and 130. Big ling cod was 35. All will be excellent ob the dinner plate.

I was up there in 2010, My father-in-law took me and his son up to the Great White North. We fished on the Kenai River for Kings (my largest King was 45lbs) and did some Halibut fishing. We were supposed to go after ling cod, but the water was too rough. I had a blast and would go back in a heartbeat. We had fish for at least 6 months, we couldn't eat it all. Enjoy! Unfortunately, I didn't have my egg yet.

I'll mess around with photos after while and.show off the halibut. I've caught bigger but after turning 75 last week, it's a little more difficult.

There are fishing lodges in Alaska. Virtually all offer 5 - 7 day fully guided fishing packages for a flat rate, including room, all meals and fish are cleaned, vac sealed, flash frozen and boxed for you, ready to bring home. I've done it 14 times at 4 different lodges and all were fabulous. Past 4 years we've gone to Kodiak island and fished at Kodiak Sportsman's Lodge. All the lodges will have websites explaining packages.
