Chicken Pot Pie

My first chicken pot pie for dinner last night. 375 degrees for 40 minutes, indirect legs up. Pretty good but thought some of the vegetables were a little crunchy.

Looks good. For the veggie problem, try either parboiling them or reduce the egg temp by about 25 degrees. I presume you followed recipe directions. The egg works just like a convection oven so the temp reduction is indicated for this more efficient form of cooking.

    What kind of dough?
Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN
  • The dough was Pillsbury. Not ready to tackle that yet. Thanks for vegetable and temperature suggestions.

Looking good. Love a good chicken pot pie. Was the chicken grilled/smoked on the egg first? One of our favorite ways to use leftover chicken.

or you can cover the pastry (loosely) with foil for the first part of the cook.
