  • I presume the salt absorbs liquid and prevents it from burning? You have just given me a way to get rid of a ton of table salt in the pantry.
    I agree, I have at least five two pound food saver bags of salt in my pantry. Looks like a drug stash. At $3 for 20 pounds at Costco I could not resist buying the big bag and vac packing it vs getting a small one pound box for a dollar.
