Are there any good mail order meats?
I am always looking for the best steaks I can get my hands on. Done well with Costco Prime and premium angus from Restaurant Depot.... I think Omaha Steaks are flavorless. I have been looking at "Heartbrand Beef" http://www.heartbrandbeef.com/
They sell waygu style beef and veal products. Wondering if anyone has an online butcher/retailer that they like for grabbing premium cow for special occaisions?

They are pricey, even their sirloin is among the best meat I've ever tasted.
I have no experience with Heartbrand.

the meat house, i buy from one in town but they have them in sevral parts of the country now, would only use them for their 42 day dry aged steak which i believe is choice but still reasonable in the low 20 per pound price range. they have a store locator as well as internet sales

I've tried D'Artagnan http://www.dartagnan.com/ and I've been very pleased with what was received. The product is delivered in a cooler box with dry ice and you can specify when you'd like to receive it.

I have had great luck with these guys although don't order it too often. I have met the owner and it is a small Montana farm. When they age, they age the entire steer, not just parts for 28+ days.I have also ordered $ome cu$tom chop$ when family has visited (see pics) and they are show stoppers. As you may guess, they can get a little pricy-Ironically- one of the most reasonably priced items (burger patty's) made probably one of if not the best burger I have ever had-Ribeye-Ribeye & small sirloin slicedBirthday gift Tomahawk Cut ribeye for dad-I will let you be the judge and jury on marbling, etc. I have never met a farmer at Safeway or Albertsons, so I was happy to support them. I have had excellent luck with Rube's a family owned cook your own steakhouse in Central Iowa. Most often, I go to the butcher shop and pick out what I want, but have sent boxes to friends and they have raved about the quality. Check this out and see if it is something you might be interested in.

Wow another great looking option. Prices seem a bit more reasonable than some of the other waygu or prime options I have seen.

Every time we drive to Northern Ca we stop and eat lunch at Harris Ranch and pick up some steaks for gifting. Last year for fathers day my wife ordered a combo online and the steaks were AWESOME. I haven't ordered again as they're still too pricey for me.Brewer, BBQer, Softballer, RCer, Father, HomeTheaterer, and trouble maker.Orange, CA
