Drip pan for BB Ribs

I'm doing my BB Ribs at 250 for 5 hours. What liquid is needed for my drip pan?

No liquid is needed. I've done it with and without beer, apple juice and water. Can't say that I noticed a difference, so now the drip pan is dry except for the drips.
