I cooked three butts LAST Saturday. (9 days). Wrapped one and put in the fridge. Is it OK? What say you? The other two were awesome, by the way.

How does it smell? Any funkifacation, dump it. Personally, I'd dig right in if none.

I'm a wimp hen it comes to dates. I wouldn't risk it. Had food poisoning once and it was a horrible experience. Ever since then, I've become really cautious. I'll try to find it online, but I saw a great news special on TV once about how long foods last in the fridge (left overs of various types, sauces, take home food from restaurants...). It was an eye opener. Again, I admit I'm a wimp.

i give meat 10 days cooked in proper refrigeration, my wife won't eat meat over 3 days old. I would chow down as well.

I've eaten three week old chicken that had been kept in a fridge. While it didn't kill me I wouldn't recommend it. I use the smell and slime test.XL BGE

I'm a whimp about it too. That's why I bought a foodsaver. If I know it won't be eaten in a few days, into the foodaver and freezer it goes.

I generally don't eat much that's been in the fridge past 7 days. But if it was really good the first time and it looks and smells fine, then I'd dig in!------------------------------------------------------------------------LBGE 2013 - MiniMax 2015 - Seemingly every accessory the fine folks at CGS sell - Fightin' Texas Aggie till I die - Gig 'Em - Located in the bright lights of Dallas

I'd say go for it. If we never hear from you again, at least we'll know it wasn't a good idea."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

I tend to not eat things that are over a week old unless it cheese or canned stuffs. Meat aft a week the dogs gets treats and I won't touch it.HFX NS

If it passes the whiff and slime tests its probably good. You can heat it up well just to be safe. There may not be enough moisture in it to spoil quickly.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.
