some beans and some ribs

tried something new with the ribs and liked it. worcestershire sauce then rub and rest for an hour, then a light smear of frenches, honey, and cider vinegar, more rub and a sprinkle white sugar. low and slow for about 6 then off the egg sauced, raise temps and remove stone, quick sear over hot heat.

    Great ribs and just found my bean pot.  I'll wash it and hopefully use it this weekend.

    A bean. pot ?  I don't have a bean pot.

    After I get this bean pot, and I have to have one now. It looked great.

    I like my ribs dark like yours.

    What wood did you use, if any ?

    I use pecan, hickory, and sometimes apple, but I can't get

    that mahogany color.

    the beans are whats called rochettes beans which are pretty much a staple in lowell massachusetts. pretty simple recipe and flavored at the end with a squirt of bbq sauce. 1 pound bag of yellow eye or navy,or great northern beans (grew up with yellow eye so thats what i usually use. soaked overnight. 1 onion, 1/3 to 1/2 pound salt pork diced small, 1/4 cup ketchup or bbq sauce, cover with water by about an inch and bake at 260 for about 6 hours. i make a pot of these pretty much every weekend, they are simple and the ingredient list is small
    :D usually in the oven but sometimes they go in for some smoke the last hour if somethings on the egg. i make alot of boston baked as well but those are more a holiday bean for get togethers
