10lb suckling pig

Cooked a suckling pig, 10lbs, in my large egg. Incredible! Apple wood smoke, 6 hours at 250.

It was amazing! Once everyone got over the shock of the baby pig, they were polishing their plates

Awesome cook, I assume the 10 lb. weight was dressed?  Any idea what the live weight was?  Who did the scalding and scraping?  I would love to give that a try, please post details.

    10-11lb suckling pig...

Temp 250 degrees for 6 hours.  Didn't do anything to it but salt, pepper and garlic salt on the inner cavity.  After, wrapped him up with foil and towels and put him in the Yeti for a bit.  It was unbelievable.

10-11 lbs was dressed.  No prep for me at all, bought it from a farmer.  that size was perfect for a Large BGE.  Find a local farmer who does whole pigs for people for roasting, call them and ask for a suckling and tell them the weight you are looking for.  This pig fed about 10 easily, with some other choices of bbq

For those of us that can not get a suckling pig, get a larger one and try making porchetta. See post #97 here:
