Is this the same as the Eggzilla?

They are super expensive. For the price, I'd rather have 3 XL's.-Jody Newell (LBGE & a 36" Blackstone griddle).

According to the mothership they are not for sale yet. The final price is still in limbo...Extra Large, Large, and Mini. Tucker, GA

$4k? no way I'd pay that.. you could get a trailer bbq for that
-
Closer to the 3k range from what the mothers hip said.

Whoever buys one better throw one helluva party and invite all of us. That party would be epic!!Flint, Michigan

They cooked twenty six whole chickens in that thing at once! Gonna be hard to justify anything in that pice range thoughExtra Large, Large, and Mini. Tucker, GA

i was in the mothership yesterday and they still aren't for sale. they have some prototypes and are finalizing the design. i think he said they will be out this fall.
-
lol.. probably need like 50lbs of charcoal
-
I use my Weber Ranch Kettle for big family parties at my sisters house, and I am taking it to work for one as well. I wouldn't be able to move that xxl around like that. I am not sure if the xxl has a long life at that price point, and for its practicality.
-
You need to be feeding a BIG family regularly or using it for commercial. I'd get more use out of 2 (or more) XLs for the likely price of the XXL.

That would be cool have have but I doubt many of us would need or even want to fire that large of a grill up. Talk about needing a lot of charcoal. One other thing. I hope they have some assist or something on opening the lid. The weight of the dome has to be crazy heavy. One drop and you would think it would crack easy.

I was at the NJ BBQ championship back in July and they had a BGE demo truck with a bunch of eggs. The rep providing the cooking demo said they would be out in limited stores in the fall and priced around 2k. Would you buy one at 2k?I know all the rules, but the rules do not know me.

I still can't justify $2k, but as I pay off some bills I will start saving for a large or xl.
-
Hmm, not enough cooking area. I'd need an AR or grid extender. Group buy!+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Austin, Texas. I'm the guy holding a beer.

What defines a whole hog? Lb wise? I put a 30 lb (uncleaned) piglet on my XL and had to bend it to get it on. Wonder the size pig that can go on this thing.

How is it a big hit if it's not even for sale yet? :-?

XXL #82 out of the first 100, XLGE X 2, LBGE (gave this one to daughter 1.0) , MBGE (now in the hands of iloveagoodyoke daughter 2.0) and lots of toys -
My first car was a 75 Maverick with a 302 v8. It was a rusty piece of crap, but it was fast.Flint, Michigan

I would give $2k butbits going to be closer to $3k from what the mothers hip said. Check out the new kamodo kamado. Its about the same grill size but weight 1000 pounds. It has ceramic lips at different levels inside to support 3 different sized grates at different levels like a built in AR. Don't look at the price.
-
That Kamodo Kamado is crazy. 1000lbs, feel pretty safe going away and leaving it outside - nobody stealing that thing. And at a very reasonable $6.5 K, might get 2.
-
The Komodo Kamado only weighs about 550 pounds actually. 3 people can lift it up steps. I know. I did.
It only has lips for supporting 2 grids. The top grid rests on whichever of the 2 lower grids that you want to set it on.
The 23" inch model is a mere $4400 (choke). It's the 32" monster that is over $6K.
If anyone is interested in this cooker, I did a pretty complete review of it: Komodo Kamado 23" Grill.
Edit: It just dawned on me that you were probably comparing the 32" KK against this XXL. Sorry!

I have a funny feeling the typical "egger" isnt the market for the XXL. I have a feeling that there have been request from BBQ restaurants and maybe even food trucks with a customized trailer. If its commercial, a 3-4k price range really isnt out of line.

I wonder if Tom at CGS will make a lump reducing ring because the people who buy this behemoth start lamenting the huge amount of lump it burns?Flint, Michigan
