Another Cutting Board Thread
OK, I have done my research here on the board and the consensus seems to be that when looking for a nice cutting board people reccomend:
The Board Smith
Cutting Board Gallery/Ozark West
John Boos
Vermont Bowl Company/John McLeod
However, I wanted to ask about Larchwood which makes this beautiful end grain board
http://www.larchwoodcanada.com/carvers_board?category_id=48
They use Eastern Canadian Larch. Any thoughts? I am leaning towards Board Smith but really like the look of this board but am unsure as to Canadian Larch is a good idea. I have some nice knives but not high end Japanese....

Have a 2X2X2 standing on legs Boos. Has not been used in 20 years except to hold a plant at the end of the counter. I use the white plastic ones from Sam's.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

I got a custom one from greenriverwoods on Etsy. I looked alot of places and his spalted wood cutting boards were the nicest I found in my opinion. I have a Boos butchers block and a big like 22*20 Boos board but the spalted red maple is by far my favorite. http://www.etsy.com/shop/GreenRiverWoods?ref=shop_sugg ..

Lit, what are the dimensions of your board that you got from Green River? Thanks!

not that serious for me, I have a plastic one, and my wife got me a $10 customized one with my initials.

I believe its 18*20*2. I wanted something good sized but not too big to move around. I am going to get a spalted Sycamore for veggies that is a little bigger probably 22*20*1.5. Here it is with a 6 pound shoulder on it and it still has plenty of room.

I wonder if I'm the only person to invest in a really nice end grain cutting block and then not use it because it's too nice looking? It sits on the counter brand new (it's probably 5-6 years old) and I pull out one of my 6-7 starboard sheets to do all my cutting on.

You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.Walter Sobchak: Nihilists! *uck me. I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

I just found some pretty cool ones on www.culinarywoodcraft.com They also have pepper grinders, pizza peels, rolling pins and some nice looking oil to go along with it. My friend bought some of their Cutting Board Finish and he swears by it.

Made this board myself 30 years ago out of red oak, and still going strong. Been through the dishwasher a thousand times.
