Coffee RUb Smoked Turkey Breats (pictures) What to pair?

Saw a lot of chatter about this preparation on thios forum so I thought I would give it a try. Results were outstanding. Brined and followed Mickeys coffee rub recipe from forum. The wife prepared some bacon gravy, stuffing and standard mashed. The combo was all just good not great.

This bird is good enough to fly solo but I was wondering what sides and gravy would set this off? The coffee and ancho chile needs a sweeter gravy and sides.... The savory stuffing and bacon gravy did not do it justice. Any thoughts?

What about roasted sweet potato? That sounds like a good pairing for what you're describing, and they are delicious...

Or if you want to get really adventurous what about a molé sauce?

Maybe roasted beets, with greens and goat cheese crumbles? It's a good starch, but on the sweet side. I like the sweet potato idea as well. Mashed sweet potatoes are a favorite.

But mostly, that turkey breast with the coffee rub is money. It's better on day 2, I think!

Yeah I think sweet potatoes next time.... with a sweeter gravy. I am not looking to make this into a desert but the ancho needs something to calm it down. thanks for the input

A little late but yes! I'd go sweet potato mash. Sometimes I'll grill the sweet potatoes then mash them with a little butter, brown sugar and S&P. Makes them a little smoky, so good.

Another great spice to add into it that may actually really work with this is a little curry seasoning. I have a few mixes and a rub that I will use on grilled sweet potatoes sometimes. Really goes good with a little bit of a spicy meat.

used a basic salt, sugar mix w lemon wedges, fresh tyme, peppercorns... BTW NEWS FLASH!!! Do not send peppercorns down your disposal.... They can jam in the side and stop the spin. Took me about an hour to fix......

What about a balsamic reduction sauce. Google them they are good and sweeter than you would think with some nice acidity to offset things
