I really, really like the Head Country original rub and sauce. A little over $40 got me 1 gallon of sauce and 7lbs of rub.... Another thing I'm doing which I laughed at when first joining the forum.

I live close to the original Head Country store and grew up thinking all bbq tasted like Head Country.  I consider them THE sauce and rub.  All others are competing for second place...imho.

Sounds like you're stocked up and ready to go!

  • dude- that is crazy cheap. If you were to buy 7 lbs of the stuff we all love and brag about it would be over $150 just for the rub!

Bad Byron's Butt Rub?  I'm determined to reverse engineer it.  I know what's in it, just need to figure out the ratios.

Bad Byron's is cheap. I was talking about the good stuff. Love it but it's pricey.

And BB will be easy to reverse engineer for someone who takes the time to do it. It's simple stuff.

DP is for real. But what other rub is as affordable and as flexible as Bad Byron's?

Head country is really good. and cheap. I only use BB on Brisket so I'm not in the flexible camp (not to say it isn't, I just use other stuff for other things).

I use it on brisket and butts. Gonna have to give Head Country a go. My Egg dealer sells it.

I have to keep the large shaker of Bad Byrons in the house now.  My family puts it on a lot of things now.  Especially love it on fries.

I have a slew of the Dizzy Pig rubs and am falling in love the tsunami spin.

@henapple, where did you get the Head Country? Amazon is charging Dizzy Pig prices.

If i put the 7lbs of rub on like pitmasters... It'll do 4 racks of ribs.
