XL BGE plate setter ?

I am trying to smoke a 20 lb Turkey. Wanted to use a vertical holder( beer can turkey) with indirect cooking. When I place my plate setter( legs up) in the egg there isn't! enough room to close the lid w/ o touching Turkey. What am I doing wrong?

    are you dead set on beer canning it? if it doesn't fit, I'd consider butterflying (spatchcock) it.

    Unfortunately an egg dome is only so tall. I would spatchcock it.

    Just put the bird on the grill normally if you want to do it whole.  I'd ice the the breast before cooking it so that it doesn't over cook waiting for the dark meat to finish.
