  • That's what happens when the lousy bean counters try to start running the business.  It's all about the bottom line.  Oh wait....  I'm a bean counter too.....  I agree it looks cheap and can possible hurt the image.

Wonder what marketing genius came up with this change-gotta be the cost-cutters driving this train with no input from the end-customer.  A business getting too big to stay connected.  Just an opinion...

  • but it's made out of recycled garbage bags.

It looks like they made it out of recycled plastic dog turds from a joke shop.

It is ugly, but I don't know if I would compare it to a carp... That is aggressive @caliking.... =))

That's disgusting! (The handle, not the carp picture. That's pretty funny)

I can't believe that a switch from wood to plastic would impact the profitability of a product like a BGE.  Wonder if the person who made the call to switch the handle enrolled everyone in the Jelly of the Month club?

totally looks cheap - seems BGE is more worried about the bottom line vs quality

Is it made in china now!! That just cheapens the brand. They should start dealing with walmart soon for increased distribution.

@Chubbs: was meant as cr@p but I didn't want it to be flagged in some way. :) I don't even want to know what's going on in that pic!

Maybe I should have just typed it the way it was intended so that it would be flagged,  and the mothership might actually see how the egging public feels.

I turned my own handle on my wood lathe when the original handle was starting to look ratty. Will curious to see how the plastic weathers and handles the heat.

My wood handles on both my Eggs are crap. I would happily take 2 of these as replacements.

The handle is longer than the egg is in diameter.

Just picked up a LBGE at an Eggfest today and I got the new plastic handle. Really disappointed.

Does anyone here have a spare wood one kicking around that I could buy off of you? Perhaps if you already upgraded to a custom one?
