Does anyone have experience with the IGRILL bluetooth temp probe which sends a message to your phone when your meat hits a certain temp?
It looks ok, but I am a bit skeptical.
Thanks- P

It works fairly well, but it chews through batteriesPentwater, MI

I bought one recently because it was on sale at best buy. I wasn't terribly impressed with it (very plasticky, slightly clunky feel to it) so I returned it. I didn't see it as being that much if an advantage over my maverick. When the maverick dies I may spring for the new Thermoworks bluetooth setup.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Mine is working fine. I have the duel-probe one. No issues and everything works great. I can't say whether it is better or worse than any other kind, but I have no need for anything else.XL BGE

I like mine, does use a lot of batteries though

Just purchased the Bluetooth Duo from ThermoWorks and really like it. It's total quality and the iPhone app for it works well. It's rechargeable and last a long time. Way more accurate than my Maverick.Large, Medium, Mini, and Mini Max, a few too many accessories, 2 kids, 1 dog, and original wife. Lover of winter, powdery snow, and lots of golf.

@Powderhound - what kind of range are you getting with the Duo? Do you know if there is an Android app out?#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

@calikingI found the BlueTherm Lite app(Thermoworks Duo app) on the Google app store.

@Powderhound - thanks. Sorry, i should have been more clear. I meant transmission range of the unit. The iGrill lost connection at about 20 feet or less, through an exterior wall with windows. It did however reconnect when I was in range again.@Eggcelsior - Thanks. I found that app later after i downloaded the instruction manual for the Duo. I was searching for Thermoworks initially, and that didn't yield any results.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

@Powderhound did you experience the 75 feet range in a free open space? Or were you able to get the signal from within your house?
Can you post close up pictures of the unit? I would like to see the back (Thermoworks are selling a gorillapod type of adpater and I would like to see what the connector looks like).
Does the unit logs the temperature in internal memory for later access in case the connection is lost with the bluetooth device?

@paqman I would suggest calling them as I'm away from home for a while and won't be able to get your answers soon. When I lost connection I could pick up recording where I left off. Good luck. The folks at ThermoWorks are real pros. They will be of better help than me.Large, Medium, Mini, and Mini Max, a few too many accessories, 2 kids, 1 dog, and original wife.
