Egg Baked Spaghetti (lotsa pics)

SWMBO wanted spaghetti, I wanted to egg. So I compromised with egg baked spaghetti tonight. Seared the meatballs in a CI skillet with garlic infused EVOO on the AR. Meanwhile the noodles were boiling on the clock inside. Once meatballs to temp, I poured my saice in the skillet to warm while I prepped the noodles. Noodles were drained then thrown in a pyrex bowl. A nice coating of ricotta cheese went over the noodles. Then layed the meatballs over that. Followed that with the sauce, then a generous coat of fresh grated mozzarella and some basil from the garden. No plated pic because we pounded this dish in 3 minutes. Thanks for looking.

    @Chubbs - Like a spag and meatball lasagna.  Very nice.  Does it make a difference cooking stuff like that on the egg?  We cook all our Italian food like that in the kitchen except for the bread stuff like pizza.

    @Nola, yeah I got your email. Thanks man. I will keep you in the loop on my progress. As for the pasta, I usually cook mine in oven too. I loved it on the egg though. It had a subtle smokey flavor. "Egged" flavor. Loved it!!

    That looks awesome Chubbs. My wife has been cooking sketty casserole similiar to this for years. I am gonna have to give it a try on the egg.

    It too like italian dishes better the second round.


    Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg wing.

    Thans Griffin. It was really good. I used a vodka sauce that was relatively thin, so the ricotta helped thicken it to a nice fattening cream sauce. Worked really well.
