ok..Long story Short:New egghead last june. Cen-tex started a thread to help some of us w/ our 1st brisket cook. Lots of us were on. It went something like this Got it rubbed, fire going, liquor was flowing as well. All was good. Had chunks in hand, DH opended dome and FLASHBACK, he had 0 arm hair left, so of course I had to take a pic of that (w/ my phone) then after we finished laughing I threw in the chunks... and realized I still had the PHONE in my hands that I just had emptied into the egg!!! I panick and yell at him to grap the phone out, but we can't see anything other than the fire. I use these welder's gloves so the whole time I was desperately trying to turn on the headlight that I wear to see at night, with those damn gloves it was impossible. DH grabbed my glove off my hand and just stuck his hand into the fire. He pulled out the first thing he could grab, it was my phone!! A little smokey but not burned up. The warning "I am too hot" light was on but it cooled off and I am still am using it today! I posted the story and every one wanted to see my git up. So this is that pic. When I tell people about it, it still brings me to tears!! One of the best nights with my DH and my cyber Egging Friends! Can't wait for more summer stories. Now the phone stays inside when I am egging!!

@LizzieSamps... great story... simply great!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

Mine is NOT a tuna, but a photo of the biggest snook that i have caught and released.

@lizziesamps...That explains your concern for my phone on my overnight thread from Saturday! Lucky to say that I did not repeat your experience!
As for mine, my wife is originally from NC, so we are a pork family. My lunchbag has a better diagram, but it is beat up and wouldn't work well for a photo, so I found this one online.LBGE

Caught in Everglades National Park. Had two big fish on at the same time. My BIL's fish ran up into the mangroves and broke the line. Luckily, my fish ran into open water where i fought it for about thirty minutes on plug casting light tackle. The fish was released to fight again.

Just a picture of myself. Live right across the hall from Jerry and just upstairs from Newman. George and Elaine should be by any minute.

That fish is 48 inches long. I was raised in South Florida and fished around bridges targeting snook all my childhood. Later, i always had a backcountry boat to fish snook, along with a larger boat to fish off shore. Now retired, and fish the Gulf Coast for redfish, mainly.

Now retired, and fish the Gulf Coast for redfish, mainly. The development of the GPS caused major changes in Everglades National Park. Prior to GPS technology, people didn't venture back into the backcountry- like 38 miles where the fresh water mixed with the salt water - where we would catch both fresh and salt water in the same areas. To get away from "people", we started fishing in the lower keys - fantastic fishing!! We could catch lobster as we needed with just a fishing pole's tip and a landing net!! We fished all artificial plugs and light casting tackle. One area was "the Content Keys"!! At night catching 24 inch mangrove snappers is about the limit of our tackle. Enclosed photo is a world record Broadbill Swordfish caught in 1978, 453 pounds - 12 foot, one inch long caught on 50 pound test line. Took two hours to put in the boat, one of our first swordfish night trips.

Mine is hard to see, but it's a moose that I came across when I was coming back from the grocery store in the mountains. I called our daughter who was in our condo just at the bend in the road and she ran down. So for a while the two of us watched him from either side until a car pulled out from another driveway and scared him away. It was cool but I think @YEMTrey has the best avatar - GO BLUE!
