    That is cool. 

    I do something related to make char cloth for starting a fire with flint and steel.  It's really neat and could be a very valuable skill to have in the event of the zombie apocalypse.  Gotta keep on egging.

    On another bbq forum I follow, a few people have made their own charcoal in retorts made out of clean paint cans to 55 gal drums.
