Have to cook 70lbs next week. Thought I would try it first. Seems to work, only issue is you really need to line up the bottom with the grate or it will slip under the weight. Base pieces could be a little wider. At least when on an XL.

Turn it 90 degrees so it runs perpendicular, not parallel to the grates.

It needs to be attached either through the middle crossbars, or turn it so the grids hit it perpendicular like @spaightlabs said. Not getting much strength at all with the current set up.
Also, you'd lose the swing aspect, but since its butts (no flipping) you could just put it smack dab in the middle for total support_______________________________________________XLBGE -
