Mom's Day: butt, beans, & bundles

Pork butt. Injected Italian drsg, bad Byron butt rub night before, John Henry's Alabama butt rub 1 hour before egg.

Egg 275, partyQ equipped. Ran for 8-9 hours. At 185 I foiled and bumped egg up to 325.

Green bean bundles.

Baked beans.

    All the butts I have cooked, I have never injected with Italian dressing. Might try next time. Oily at all? Assuming not with the review

    I got a hold of a bite or two that was. But I only pulled it a little. Was no where near shredded. Overall this was the best butt I've ever had, the rub combo and bark was amazing. My in laws were very pleased with the egg!

    It's kind of everything but the kitchen sink. Tonight was just bush's beans, sausage, bacon, dr pepper. Cooked indirect at 350 for about 1 hour was longer just because we ate late. I usually put all kind of stuff in them. Franks, SBR, brown sugar.

    How was the bark after waiting later in the cook to foil?

    @mattman3969

    It looked like a crusty rock before I foiled. Still there but stickey after I foiled.

    The bark was way better before I foiled. Me and dad were snackig on it. I needed to change the large to raised direct soon so I foiled and pushed the temp up to finish the butt. I think it would have been a lot better to leave it un foiled.

    Next time I'm shoot for 300 no foil and see.

    They looked great. I've never had them with sausage or Dr. Pepper....you can bet that I will though.
