Mother's Day Cooks

The wife and a friend of hers want steak Sunday evening, so I'll probably be doing some ribeyes or filets.. I think I will be doing some baked or twice baked potatoes.. Anyone ever done twice baked potatoes on the Egg?  What are some of your favorite sides with a good steak?

And what does everyone else have planned?

    Ive done twice baked potatoes a few times on the egg love them. Foil them and leave the top of foil open keep them off to the side if direct

    So foil them to cook initially, dig them out, fill with mixture and put back on to melt the cheese on top?  Do you keep the foil on at that point or leave it off to crisp up the skin?

    I usually do the first cook in the micro quick then prepare them foil them and then on the egg

    Oh ok.. I think I'll do mine on the Egg and just start before the steaks.

    You can do them on the egg I just do them in the micro first for a couple of mins more for time restraints

    Our family's new favorite is smashed potatoes.

    I microwave them instead of boiling them to get them soft enough to smash.  They end up being a great combination of crispy skin on the outside and soft on the inside.

    That's a neat recipe.. Do you put them on the Egg or in the oven?

    These were swimming in the Gulf Friday afternoon.  Gonna get my cast iron griddle out and "blacken" some fresh redfish.  Fresh green salad, and some "Broasted" fries..
