Mother's Day Cooks... Happy Hour

Just got back from picking up a few things for tomorrow night...

We decided to change things up a bit and do a Mother's Day Happy Hour instead of anything on Sunday. Sunday is more of a just us kind of day and will be for my wife this year...

People bringing apps tomorrow night... Since work is being a pain this week, I really don't have time to do anything to involved, at least for tomorrow night. I picked up a dozen kabobs, 6 beef & 6 chicken. My wife said I really shouldn't cook anything, I just shook my head. I cannot have people over, especially on my deck, and not have  the egg fired up...

As for Saturday and Sunday cooks, not sure yet...

Hope everyone has good weekend!

Very similar work week for me Hap, and a long week at home as the wife is coordinating her friend's wedding that is Saturday so not anything to dramatic here. Saturday have to work to try and catch up on everything that didn't get accomplished while the suits were in town during the week.

Saturday night picking the kids up from my Mom and probably going to just do take out Mothers Day with her unless work doesn't take as long as I think it's going to.  Then Sunday will just be me the wife and the kids.  Have a 8.5 lb butt and probably going to have to do steak for the wife.

Somewhere in there I need to do my yardwork and would like to get the garden started.  I'll honestly just be glad when this week is over and things get back to my warped sense of normalcy.
I raise my kids, cook and golf.  When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.
Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

@Scottborasjr hope the weekend goes off without too many problems. Sucks when you actually have to wait till Monday for a breather. I'm on call next week so fingers are crossed for a great weekend and then a quite week of on call.

    Enjoy!

Hmm...I honestly have a busy weekend ahead of me. On Saturday, I'm serving the following:

    15# Brisket
    9# Boston Butt
    (6) 5# spatchcock birds
    6# turkey breast
    10# sausage

Mother's Day gets a lil easier...I'm grilling 15 New York Strips.

Should I be this excited? :D

Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

I might have jump on this chicken bomb bandwagon. The local news is giving away a large BGE from a dealer for a promotion this month, they aired a piece last night showing how to make duck breast bombs: cream cheese wrapped in a halved jalapeño, wrapped in a ~1oz slice of duck breast, wrapped in bacon. Cooked indirect for 15 or 20 minutes. They looked delicious.
