I was browsing another site and came across this video. I ordered one for my large egg. When it comes in I will followup with a review.

Yep. Works great!

Quick question...does anyone know if this fits an XL? It obviously is dependent on the size of the handle and I can't recall if the XL has the exact same size handle as the L. Any insight?
-
that light looks like it fits the older Large handles. I'm pretty sure the XL handles and new large handles are always wider.Bx - > NJ ->TX!!!All to get cheaper brisket!

I do happen to have a couple of extra threaded studs laying around. Sometimes it pays to never throw anything away.

A little trick I was taught by my dealer for the thermometer problem - I cut off the bottom third of a wine cork, and bored a hole through the middle with an ice pick (which was almost the same diameter as the stem of the thermometer). Slide the stem through the hole, and you have an adjustable therm - just slide the stem through enough to protrude into the interior of the Egg, and the cork will hold the rest of it outside the Egg.Go Hogs Go -
