I will buy one for the the large. Let us know how and when to pay.
-
What's the purpose of "the baking steel?" Is it just something to cook on?XL bge, Mini max & 36 BS Griddle.
-
i would like a 16in 1/4 round
-
Wouldn't 16" restrict the airflow too much? I mean, there must be a reason why the BGE pizza stone is 14"... I personally intend to use it high in the dome and I am sure others will want to do the same thing.I would prefer to stick with the same size as the BGE stone.15$ sounds like a fair shipping charge to Canada. My only concern would be if we have to use the shipping company broker for the customs. The best option in my opinion would be USPS or UPS ground. Fedex may be a problem... Do we know what shipping company will be used?____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli

Ok everyone, thanks for the response and here is the update:
I talked to Andris with "The Baking Steel" this morning and this is how the conversation went:
JT: "I hope your production line is going full speed!!"
Andris: "Why?"
JT "Because there are potentially 45 - 50 baking steels about to be ordered!!"
Andris: "Holy S@#$!!!!, are you serious?!?!"
JT: "Yep, I told you, when the guys believe in a product they are on full board, I wasn't joking yesterday when we talked."
Andris: "Woah, ok, what sizes?"
And so the conversation went.
Anyway, Andris is finalizing the numbers today on pricing. Here is what we are thinking of doing to make it the easiest for everyone to order what they want at the size/quantity they want:
1. A promotional code will be provided to "Eggheads" ONLY for a certain amount off a certain size. For example a promotional code for a 14" round 1/4" steel would be "Egghead14" or something like that. That would then save you X dollars off the price and INCLUDE shipping. If you would order a 15" it would be "Egghead15" and save a set amount (the amount saved varies based on size ordered of course)
2. The promotional code would be good for eggheads only, please don't go posting it on your blog, or providing it to CNN for fun .
3. You would order through his website and have to order by a set date. If you missed the date, I am sorry you would not be able to get the group buy price, that way Andris is able to save labor/steel costs by making the most out of his steel that he can.
4. He will let us know of a production date and then a ship date. Please note that these may not be "exact" dates as it may take a couple of days to produce/ship this many items. Also, it probably goes without saying, shipping time varies from place to place so not everyone's will arrive the same day.
4. Yes we can do all kinds of sizes, from sizes for the mini, to the XL. Again price will vary based on size/thickness ordered. Yes we are going to do the 1/2" as well.
5. There is not much he can do in terms of price break for the other items he sells (the cover for the steel, the pizza peel, etc). as he does not make those items himself. He will see what he can do if you want to order those though.
Again, my goal in this is for this to be a smooth process. I am trying to avoid as much as possible this biting Andris in the backside as he is saving us money. As soon as I have pricing available I will post that today.
If you have any questions please post here on the forum or send me a PM.

Newbie question ( I was told that I am allowed 2 per day) What is the advantage of the baking steel over the BGE pizza stone? Now for the second question...what is the difference between the 1/4 and 1/2 thick steels besides size of course?Persistence and determination are omnipotent!
