Central TX Peeps- Great Asian market in Austin!

TFJ and I found this awesome Asian market today. It had tons of Asian restaurants in the plaza as well. Pork belly at $2.99 which is still higher than I like but better than the $4.99 at Central Market.

If you can't find it there, it does not exist! Tons of fun, super clean, and they had everything. We suprised the kids with all kinds of treats. They are in heaven right now eating "super sour popping powder candy" Double Chocolate Pocky, Mango Ice crean Bon Bons (mango sherbet in a dumpling- freaking awesome) and a buch of other weird candy and snacks

Name is MT Supermarket and it's in far north Austin on N. Lamar between Rundberg and Braker. Check it out, you won't be sorry.

One of our favorite places to shop. Love the veggies and 99 varieties of sauces that they sell. The meat and seafood selection is great too.

We have a fair number of Asian markets given the East and south asian populations in the Vancouver region. My favourites, Pocky and fresh coconut bread, once I smell that bread I simply surrender.
Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

cool, skiddy....I'd expect you do because of your geographic location.  We have a different story - fishermen from Vietnam immigrated here after 'nam because of the fishing, so we have a HUGE asian grocery store pretty close (old Wal-Mart)....

We also shop at the local mexican meat markets. Going native/ethnic makes cooking a lot more fun and affordable. Some of our shopping trips turn into recipe adventures.

It is a great place. We checked the chinese market on Parmer Lane and purchased a bucket load of sauces. Then we were off to Din Ho for early supper.

That's great, Cen-Tex.  Sounds and looks like Ranch 99 here.  Since we could be moving up your way, this is great news to me.

It looked they had everything you could need. I can't imagine any staple ingredient not being there in 3-4 different brands.

I work a couple miles from there - go to lunch at Pho Saigon quite a bit. Pho Siagon might be one of the busiest Pho places in town. I agree, First Chinese BBQ is great - love the whole hog.  They have Soy chickens that are good too.  Had lunch there last week with a few guys from work.  We get the combo fried rice, spicy fish and BBQ duck&pork combo plate and eat family style.

Like any chain store,  pick your Fiesta meat market carefully...some are better than others, same can be said for La Michoacana and HEB.

We were really impressed by the HANA World Market over on Parmer Lane.  Very clean.  Veggies looked very fresh.  I will be trying some things from the meat market next time.  Lots of thia products too.

MT is fantastic! Just double-check the expiration dates - I've noticed more than some of their products are about to expire or are past due. Also, I highly rec the korean market on Lamar as well. It's my go-to place for when I want to pick up some fresh Korean noodles.

Never bought meat there but seeing a dozen hog heads lined up looking at you was impressive. I like the spices.

That's quite a haul  - I'd recommend the bone-in filet a Steiner Steakhouse.  Closer and my god, it's a bone in filet!  Who else serves that??

Looks like a 30 minute drive according to da Google. Wasn't going to eat there, just shop a bit. But since moving here I'm still looking for good asian food.
If it's more, I'd like to know. Central market is a place the Mrs goes at least a couple times a month, but where else can I get Pocky?
