oh god- it's awesome. It's my favorite by far. I love pappy too but you can't get it down here. If you like bourbon, it is a treat that is not to be missed.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

Red Dog Wine and Spirits in Franklin, TN has it in stock so I stopped by on my way home from work tonight. They have an open bottle and I was able to taste test. Amazing taste! What a treat. I wish I had the presidential 18 year old to compare.

Jefferson's 21 bourbon is luscious, though T. Jefferson's should be 221 or so years old.Imagine that.Hood Stars, Wrist Crowns and Obsession Dobs!

4Runner said:Hard to beat Woodford Reserve.</blockq i love Woodford and drink it more than anything else but the Jefferson's presidential 18 and 21 are a whole different world (and price point-they are $75-$90) . its not even close if you hd them side by side.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

They are lovely.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -
We had dinner at new bar and grill tonight that serves upper end food kinda like you would see on DDD and they had a bourbon called Applewood Smoked Woodford which was outstanding. After talking with the waitress she told me that they infuse their own smoke into regular Woodford Reserve. Hummm!!! Looks like I will be buying an infuser shortly!!-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

Never dropped the change on the Jefferson's but enjoy the Van Winkle's 15 and 12 year old-that said, Woodford's Double Oaked (@Mattman3969) is my new friend. I like it more than the above two Van Winkles. But what do I know-bourbon and how do you cook...many ways to enjoy the end product. Time for some bourbon!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

I have had the regular Jefferson and it was good. I like the regular and double oak Woodford better however.MSV Chill Spot

Not on the same level as the 21, but way better than anything from the bottom shelf in a plastic bottleMSV Chill Spot

that sounds really cool. trying to figure out the process there. smoky bourbon and bbq sound lovely together.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -
@Mattman3969-your mission, should you choose to accept it is to get them to give you the keys to the kingdom aka the "process". I will gladly invest in the bourbon and time given a reasonable point of departure. In advance, thanks for such a valuable contribution to this bourbon forum

Ok- mission excepted and completed. They use an infuser gun much like this http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/smoking-gun/?pkey=e|Smoke+infuser|92|best|0|1|24||1&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_- The way the owner described it to me is that they have a cork with a hole in so the tube off the smoke gun can slide into the bottle and be sealed to hold the smoke in. They run the gun about 2 hrs per bottle and then cork up tight and let set for 1 1/2 - 2 weeks and then serve. From what I have read online the choice smoke for cocktails is either cherry or apple and I can tell you first hand that apple rocks in Woodford. I can also tell when they rush the "cure" time, it's not bad but definitely powerful.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Unfortunately not available in Ontario. Did find our legal provider LCBO has 3 bucks off 4 Roses and Knob Creek. Didn't know what to do so I bought both! Heads I'm heading into the Creek. Tails it's Roses!
