Taco Pizza! My favorite so far! Pics

I took a standard crust and used medium salsa and medium taco sauce as the base rather than the standard tomato based sauce.  I then put a light coat of shredded sharp cheddar cheese.  I browned some ground beef in taco seasoning just as though you were making tacos.  After that I put the taco meat all over the pizza to my desired amount.  I put another layer of cheddar cheese then some pickled jalapeños followed by a light coat of mozzarella cheese.  Add hot sauce to suit after taking off egg.  I cooked it place setter legs up then grate then pizza stone at 550 until crust was evenly browned and cheese was perfect!

Guys this might have been the best pizza I have ever eaten.  It was so so good!  It was definitely the best I have ever made personally.

    Not even sure the hot sauce was needed but it definitely gave it even more flavor!  It was great just like it was with the jalapeños providing just enough heat!

    I'd hit that! Taco pizza was a big thing when I lived in Iowa a few years ago. Had never had it before then, but it was pretty good.

    LOVE taco pizza. I mix a can of refried beans with my salsa/taco sauce as the base, then add more salsa/taco sauce under te cheese. It's our favorite pizza. Better than Casey's makes it!

    Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

    Nice. Try topping it with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream after you pull it off the Egg. I'd post a picture but I'm at home with only Kindle and Baylor is playing for  NIT Championship right now.

    Originated here in the Quad Cities at Happy Joe's.  They put out one hell of a pie.

    @cdees_1993,

    Along with the lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sour cream @Griffin mentioned, Happy Joe's uses Taco Doritos crunched up slightly on top.

    Nice job on the taco pizza.

    We always crunched up taco flavored Doritos too.  Love love love a taco pizza.  Jalapenos would make a nice addition.

    Love that idea!  The cold toppings on the pizza are a nice addition.  Mellow Mushroom makes a caesar pie with pesto chicken and they basically dump a caesar salad on it when it is finished.  It is excellent. It give the pie a McDLT element ;).
