heres the new table my eggs rest in. With just a few more modifications, it will be ready for many years of abuse. 1/8" steel plate, 1 x 2 in. solid steel bars make up the frame. Yes, I know, the green color has to go, it will be finished in black or camouflage. Notice the burner in the center, this is a sweet addition to any egg table.

Chef Wil, llooks good! Pretty neat set up, if I do say so. Been looking for one of those lil gas burners, where did you pick it up?
-
Nice table, Wil! I'm interested in the burner, too. How many BTU's and where did you get it?[p]Jim

Burner
Me too?

Chef Wil,
Nice! Add me to those who need to know more about the burner. I've got a couple I use fro crab cookers but the one you have looks like it would work well with a wok as well as flat surfaces.
-
bought mine locally, but you can order 'em from these guys, this is actually the best burner I have ever used, remember, low pressure, the 2 rings work just like a burner on your gas stove. You can go full throttle or just a simmer.

Chef Wil,
Great looking table! Nice touch with the rounded corners and heavy duty construction. I'm looking into a setup for woking outdoors. Going to build an insert for the egg, if that don't work, (wok)-he he he, then a gas hobb. Thanks for the info.
Keep on smoken,

Chef Wil,[p]Not to be a naysayer, but I would think that with having your burner recessed so far into the table top, any medium or above flame/heat would be reflected down to scorch the paint..... A point to ponder.[p]Pete

Chef Wil,
Whwn I bought my Large, they thre in a rickety pressure treated cart.
I modified it by replacing the 1x4 top with a piece of Corian. Works great.
-
Sespe Pete,
point well taken thanks. The burner does recess a little further down when not in use and a cutting board covers it while egging. When I use it, I have a 2 inch piece of marble that slides underneath the burner and raises it well above the table and with the little feet on the burner that the pot sits on, I'm hoping its sufficient to keep it from burning. If not, I'm sure I can make a few more adjustments. Most of the cooking will be med. to low using a Lodge pot.

Burner info,
like the burner. dont know how often i would use one of those big jambalaya pots, but i think i need one of those too.
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
Chef Wil,
Nice... You're the first decent Chef I've seen who is also a metal designer/fabricator. Is that your night job? It's kinda strange but your set-up reminds me of Pamala Anderson. Wonder why?[p]Spring "Chicken Breath" Chicken

Chef Wil,
Beautiful! but I gotta ask - WHAT? No LawnRanger handles???
BTW is your new table for home use or at the restaruant? One last question - I'm intrigued by the possible selection of camouflage - how'd that come about?

RRP,
Lawn Ranger has ESP
you have ESP2
jus finished tell Mike I need some handles for my eggs, had some but changed the bands and they don't quite fit the new ones.[p]Eggs are for home use, sometimes I'll sneak it at work, work is only 100 yrds away..... ugh[p]Camaflouge ????[p]Being green, it'll get scarred and scratched, if its camaflouged, you WON"T SEE IT !!!........ hehehe

Chef Wil,
clever idea to cover scars which are bound to happen. That's about like my front stoop I had a slabjacker company out today and they raised a 9' x 5' concrete slab about 4" and because it is exposed aggregate they were able to patch the three large holes drilled with concrete and rocks and now the holes are invisible!

RRP,
we peoples is smart isn't we ???
maybe i shoulda posted this on the english thread.... hahaha
-
Chef Wil,
LOL - I forgot I'm a flatlander up here in Illinois and some of our problems as homeowners are different than other folks in the USA. Slabjackers are folks who using a slurry of pea gravel, clay, sand and a tad of water in a hopper which has a hydralic pump is then injected through a hose via holes drilled into slabs of concrete. The process produces an amazing power and results where land tends to settle due to water tables etc. Hey..so my pocketbook is now $325 lighter, but my front stoop is now flush again with my house!!!

Chef Wil,[p]Thank you very much, I am now very inspired!! Great idea![p]Aloha,[p]Greg
