Once every few years everyone has some place to be...except me. Even my mini schnauzer will be away. Tonight I'll be cooking for me.

Slab of ribs. Each half with something new.

St Louis style ribs. I've never cooked those.

Steak filet the size of a mini egg.

Multiple single apps...Salado prep.

Be like @Hapster and cook in my kitchen.

Suggestions?. Keep I'm mind I've had 2 thirty hour stretches with no sleep this week so it can't be too time consuming. Thanks.

Do a steak. I will take less time than ribs. On the other hand, turbo a smallish butt so you can take a 5-6 hr nap. Eat, then relax.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    German dinner!

German potato salad, sauerkraut, Knackwurst or Weisswurst.

The Weisswurst goes great with pretzels.

    BOOM! What'd I say!

Too bad my wife hates sauerkraut. I'm totally sleeping on the couch tonight.

I'd go with the ribs and something new.  When I cook for myself I like to try new things out so I know how to adjust when cooking for others.  But it would be hard to pass on German food.

I'm tweaking some apps to see what to do in Salado. I might go have a stick and ale and do something easy.

ive been using this one, its better to overnight the dough in the fridge after the first rise, then let it rise again the next day when you let it get to room temp. she doesnt use anything in the boiling water but they are better if you add a handful of baking soda to it and even better if you add lye. the lye makes them darker and seems to add a slight crunch to the exterior

@fishlessman - do you use the malt powder or brown sugar? Not sure I've ever seen malt powder and don't want to buy it if the sugar works. hate having an ingredient that I only use in one dish. Do you recommend ap or bread flour or a combination? Think I want to try some pretzels this weekend.

been just using ap flour and brown sugar. when you cook them take a spatula to them half way thru the cook so they dont glue themselves to the tray pan, havent tried them on a stone yet. the missing ingrediant is bees wax on the tray, the germans use bees wax to keep them nonstick, i hvent bought that yet but will
