    Yes it was, well done! Can't make pretzels without lye beads.

    I prefer German mustard, Lowensenf medium to be exact, but Dijon is good too.

    was using baking soda before but wasnt getting that harder chew or the color right, the drain cleaner is much better on pretzels

    Fishlessman, have you ever made pretzel rolls? Can't find a recipe that duplicates what you can get at virtually every bakery in Bavaria.

    havent tried the rolls but did see mention of them served with a cheese and bologna, i think they use the pretzel dough and make the roll, pretzels are pretty similar to a bagel. next time i make a batch
