I am 10 hours into my first over nighter with a 6 lb butt. Internal temp. Is stuck at 171 , waiting for 200. I have had nightmares all night long and have woke up every hour to check my maverick for grill temps. I for see a turbo butt in my future!
Feel free to boost the temp now. Check to see if any part of the butt surface looks dessicated. If so, mop it some, then boost the dome to 300 or so. Should jump up from the plateau pretty quickly.
Thanks for the info. I jacked the temp. To 300 dome and 250 grate and now my internal temp is at 184. I have only opened my egg one time that was when I took this pic.
Six pounder -- turbo cooked would have been done to perfection in six hours -- just the "reliability" of the finish time make the turbo cooking a no brainer !!
