Big Green Egg - EGGhead Forum - The Ultimate Cooking Experience...
We hope you all got to celebrate those tasty food holidays last week, we sure enjoyed them! We are even more excited about the beginning of fall, for so many reasons, but mainly for experiencing the cool, crisp air while being outside cooking up the best recipes the season has to offer. We especially love these Beer Pork Tenderloin and Ground Beef Acorn Squash recipes! Fall is upon us, and it's a great time for getting out to one of the many #EGGfests around the country - see a list here

Coals

Hopefully I don't get scorned for this, and I"m sure its been addressed before, but I have a coal question.

My local retailer is $35 for a bag of Big Green Egg coals.  To me this seems a bit steep.  I'll pay it if I have to, not worth pinching pennies if its going to compromise the quality of your food, but was also interested in possible alternatives.

Does anyone have any experience with anythign else that they though performed well?  I'm in Dallas area, does anyone know if Barbecue Galore carries anything comprable?

Thanks in advance.
